1. Purpose
This policy sets out how you may use Namd. It applies to the free scan at namd.tech and to any ongoing work we do for you.
2. Prohibited activities
2.1 Domains you do not control
- Submit a domain only if you own or control it, or if the person who does has asked you to
- Do not use the scan to make our servers fetch pages on a third party's behalf without their knowledge
- Namd fetches only publicly available pages. Do not use the scan to reach anything behind authentication, or anything you have been asked not to access
2.2 Automating past the rate limit
- The scan endpoint limits how many scans one caller may run in a given period
- Do not script, queue or distribute requests to get around that limit
- If you need a higher volume, ask at hello@namd.tech instead of working around the control
2.3 Misusing reports
- A report describes what we found on a set of pages at one moment. Do not present it as a verified statement of fact about anyone
- Do not publish a report about a domain you do not control as a claim about that company or its products
- Do not remove the context or the caveats from a report and circulate the numbers on their own
2.4 Unlawful and harmful use
- Do not use Namd for any activity that breaks applicable law
- Do not use Namd to distribute malicious code or to conduct phishing
- Do not use Namd to infringe anyone's intellectual property
2.5 Attacks on the service
- Do not attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems or to another user's data
- Do not interfere with the operation of the service, including by denial-of-service attacks
- Do not circumvent access controls or usage limits
3. Security research
Security testing is welcome within the limits in our Security Policy. Report what you find to hello@namd.tech before disclosing it, and do not degrade the service or touch data belonging to anyone else while testing.
4. Enforcement
We may block a caller, refuse a scan, or stop work on an engagement if this policy is breached. Where a breach is serious or repeated we may take legal action.
5. Reporting violations
Report anything you believe breaches this policy to hello@namd.tech.
6. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. Material changes will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
